In this article, you will find out what kind of headphones does Shroud use now and what was his previous headset.

We’ll also take a look at what headsets do other high profile streamers and compare them to Shroud’s headset.

We’ll share several tips and tricks for choosing the best headset for streaming.

So, what headset does Shroud use? Shroud uses Logitech’s G Pro X Gaming Headset with Blue Voice Technology. Shroud’s headset price on the official Logitech website is $129.00. G Pro X headset has Blue VO!CE technology, a USB sound card, and other features of a high-quality headset. Logitech’s G Pro X is Shroud’s newest headset. Before the switch, he used the HyperX Cloud Flights headset.

What Headset Does Shroud Use?

Shroud uses Logitech’s G Pro X Gaming Headset. Head to Amazon to read its reviews, full description, and to learn about its specs.

If you would consider getting a headset like Shroud has, note that you will have to download the Logitech G Hub software to get full control of Microphone EQ’s, sound EQ’s and to enable surround sound.

I guess many people who own this headset have skipped on these steps, and that’s why there are so many negative reviews about G Pro X.

Here are some of the Shroud’s Logitech G Pro X headset specs and requirements:

  • Weight: 11.28 oz (320g)
  • PC cable length: 6.56 ft (2 m)
  • Mobile cable length: 4.92 ft (1.5 m)
  • Warranty: 2 years
  • Headphone frequency response: 20 Hz – 20 kHz
  • Microphone frequency response: 100 Hz-10kHz
  • Windows 7 or later

Also, visit Logitech’s website to learn more about G Pro X’s Blue VO!CE technology.

It gives you a choice of real-time voice filters to reduce noise, add compression and de-essing, and ensure that your voice sounds richer, cleaner, and more professional.

They have an interesting explainer video about the Blue VO!CE technology on their website.

Here is what other people who own the same headset as Shroud has to say about it:

I do believe these are on par with the HyperX sound quality. I did notice, however, the 7.1 surround feature is not my preference. I currently use the 5.1 and have adjusted my equalizer to my liking. Do you want more bass? Bump the bass up. Treble? Bump it up. So much customization is what sets this apart from other headphones.” (Nick, Amazon.com)

Do yourself a favor and look up “Logitech pro x mic not working” for a second. Look at all of the results. This headset has a common problem with the microphone just not working. It’s both a hardware problem AND a software problem.” (Robert, Amazon.com)

These do not disappoint! They are extremely comfortable and sit great on my head. I have a large head (size eight hat size), and this is the first headset I have owned that I didn’t have to max out completely. The earmuffs are large and cover my ear with a comfortable clamping force that isn’t too light or too heavy. The mic sounds incredible with the Blue software in G Hub.” (Mitch Lamm, Amazon.com)

Super crisp and clean sound, best I have heard at this price point. If you are on the fence between this or the non-blue voice, get this one! It’s worth the extra $. Very comfortable, and the build quality seems nice!” (K-Loy, Amazon.com)

This quality of this headset is heavily based on how you edit the settings in Logitech G Hub software. You can’t just use it straight out of the box because the default settings probably won’t work for your voice. I had to use some presets that other users posted on Logitech’s software and adjust it some to work for me. Once I had done that, my voice sounded extremely clear and filtered, which is great for me. I also make sure that I’m using the blue voice feature, which is great.” (K, Amazon.com)

What Headsets Do Professional Gamers Use?

The most popular headset brands among professional gamers are HyperX and SteelSeries.

I have compiled a list of top professional streamers and their headsets.

Notice how Shroud is far away from having the most expensive headset among other streamers.

While Shroud’s headset costs only $129.00, Tfue uses Sennheiser HD 800 S high-resolution headphones that cost $1,399.95. Ten times more than Shroud’s headset.

So let’s take a look at what headsets other streamers use.

The Myth also uses the Logitech G Pro X gaming headset.

Ninja uses Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO studio headphones. Their price on the Beyerdynamic website is $178.00.

Note that this headphone doesn’t have a microphone. That’s an odd choice for a worldwide known streamer, but, of course, that’s an option as well.

Shroud and many other steaming stars have gone for the headset with the microphone attached to it.

You could also check Beyerdynamic DT 990 Premium headphones. Their price on Amazon is $219.00.

Cloakzy uses the Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless gaming headset. Its price on Amazon is $168.99.

Before the switch to the HS70 Pro, he used the SteelSeries Arctis Pro Gaming Headset, which is one of the most popular headsets for gaming.

From all the streamers I have mentioned in this article, only Shroud and Myth both use Logitech’s headset.

The rest have gone for another headphone manufactures. Of course, it often has to do with sponsorship deals. The same goes for gaming chairs, PC components, keyboards, and other equipment that streamers use.

By the way, you could be interested in reading my article about Shroud’s PC specs and the rest of his gaming equipment.

Shroud’s current gaming setup costs around $9,000.00. That’s including his PC that costs around $4,000.00, camera, microphone, monitor, etc.

What’s Next? Getting Shroud’s Gaming Headset?

You could, but please do your research.

As I’ve already mentioned, some people have had issues with Logitech’s G Pro X microphone and the software.

If you’re in search of a new headset and you’ve done some research, you must have noticed that several headset review sites mention the same headsets over and over again.

All the brands and headset models used by streamers mentioned in this article, in many cases, are the same as in those review articles.

It’s not like one specific headset is being mentioned more often than others and always as number one.

Buying online is easy, but when choosing a headset, maybe it’s worth visiting a local store that sells gaming products.

So, I hope you found the information you were looking for. Now you know what headset does Shroud use, but you’ve learned about several alternatives as well.

Leave a comment if Shroud has upgraded his equipment and will do my best to update this article right away.

Have a great day, and see you online.
