Regarding the hard drive, Shroud might be using either Samsung’s 960 PRO SSD or 970 PRO SSD. There is this one blog saying that it is 960 PRO HDD, but it links to 970 PRO SSD on Amazon instead.

Let’s move on to Shroud’s gaming equipment.

How Much Does Shrouds PC Cost?

Shrouds PC costs approximately 5000 USD. The most expensive Shrouds PC components are Intel’s Core i9-9980XE processor – 1399.88 USD and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 2080TI graphics card – 1279.99 USD. Together with the rest of Shroud’s gaming equipment – monitor, headset, keypad, mouse, etc., the total cost of his gaming setup is approximately 7500 USD.

What Graphics Card Does Shroud Have?

Shroud graphics card

Shroud uses one of the best graphic cards that there is – Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 2080 Ti.

It supports up to 4 monitors plus a VR Ready headset, and its price on Amazon is 1279.99 USD.

Here is what people who have bought this graphics card has to say about it:

This thing is a beast. It is fast and runs cool (50C max on ultra settings in BFV). The PCB support gives a sturdy rigidity to it. The packaging is fantastic; plastic coverings over the ports and PCI connection.

– Alex L.,

Out of the box performance allows for 1440p at 100+ fps and 4k at 60-70 fps depending on the title and how demanding it is.

– duskmoonflow,

What CPU Does Shroud Use?

Shroud processor

Shroud uses the Intel Core i9-9980XE Extreme Edition processor.

It is an excellent high-end processor for 4K gaming and video editing, but it is also a very pricey one.

If you would look for a cheaper alternative, take a look at AMD Ryzen 9 3950X

Anyway, here is what a guy who owns Intel Core i9-9980 XE has to say about it:

This is the processor of Gods.

– Grumbo,

While it might sound funny and convincing at the same time, I recommend doing the research before buying it – there are plenty of comments out there saying that this CPU is overheating and thus crashing games fast. Please check it for yourself.

What Motherboard Does Shroud Use?

Shroud uses GIGABYTE X399 DESIGNARE EX motherboard.

It is a standard ATX motherboard. Its dimensions are 30.5cm x 24.4cm. X399 DESIGNARE EX supports AMD Ryzen Threadripper CPU’s.

Pretty much everything about this board is overkill, but presumably, that’s what prospective purchasers of this thing are after. It is an extremely well-built board.

– Harry S,

What RAM Does Shroud Use?

Shroud uses Corsair RGB PRO 128GB RAM. It’s a super-fast RAM with speeds up to 4700 MHz.

This RAM also has pretty cool lighting effects. Each module has ten ultra-bright RGB LEDs, and to play around with the lighting settings, you will need to install Corsair iCUE software on your PC.

What Capture Card Does Shroud Use?

Shroud capture card

Shroud uses the AVerMedia Live Gamer HD 2.

It is a driverless plug and play capture card. So you won’t have to install any drivers to it.

Unlike as for the previously mentioned RAM, this capture card doesn’t have RGB LEDs. So you won’t be able to match its colors with other components. It will be up to you to decide either to have its cold blue light turned on or off.

It also integrates well with the OBS Studio (software also used by Shroud).

What Camera Does Shroud Use?

Shroud camera

Shroud uses Sony a6000.

Sony claims this camera has the world’s fastest Auto Focus. I don’t see how that’s relevant recording one playing video games, but it might come handy to travel vloggers and other YouTubers in movement.

This camera was released already in 2014. So I assume there should be at least a few good alternatives to it out by now.

Before switching to Sony a6000, Shroud was using Logitech HD PRO Webcam C920.

What Microphone Does Shroud Use?

Shroud microphone

Shroud uses the Shure SM7B Vocal Dynamic Microphone, and as for the boom arm, he uses RODE PSA 1 Professional Studio Boom Arm.

Note that to mount the Shure SM7B onto the RODE PSA 1, you will need to use an adapter because the boom arms screw is bigger than the hole in the SM7B. You will need a microphone screw like this on Amazon.

What Headset Does Shroud Use?

Shroud headset

Shroud uses Logitech G Pro X Gaming Headset.

This wired headset has 7.1 surround sound, and its directional audio is spot on.

See what this guy does have to say about this headset:

The first compliment when I joined my friends with this microphone was: “You sound so professional.”

– Nick,

Please do your research before getting this headset. You will have to use Logitech’s G HUB software and USB external sound card (included) to unlock the real power of this headset. Learn more about it by visiting Logitech’s website.

I also found out that before switching to Logitech G Pro X, Shroud was using HyperX Cloud Flight Wireless Gaming Headset.

What Monitor Does Shroud Use?

Shroud monitor

Shroud uses the BenQ ZOWIE XL2546 gaming monitor.

As the name already indicates, Shroud’s monitor size is 24.5 inches.

Here are some of its specs:

  • 240Hz refresh rate;
  • 1ms response time;
  • 1080P.

If you see this monitor for the first time, those aren’t speakers on the left and right from the monitor. That’s Tactical Shield you’re looking at. Its function is to remove possible distractions that might occur when playing games.

What Keyboard Does Shroud Use?

Shroud keyboard

Shroud uses the HyperX Alloy Elite Keyboard.

You will need the HyperX NGenuity software to customize its lighting,

See what others who own it have to say about it:

The construction is first-rate; it has a professional feel; it is heavy, so it is very stable.”.

– Nick,

Multimedia Keys are a great plus at this price and are super convenient.

– A,

Note that you can change the brightness of the lights and turn them off entirely.”.

– Adriano,

What Mouse Does Shroud Use?

Shroud mouse

Shroud uses the Logitech G PRO Wireless Gaming Mouse.

This mouse was developed in collaboration with more than 50 esports professionals. Every review says that this mouse has no latency, and its small weight (only 80 grams) makes it a perfect mouse for gaming.

The London Spitfire used this mouse to become the first team to win the Overwatch League championship.

Before Shroud switched to the wireless mouse, he was using Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex mouse. You can see it in the picture below – it is still on the table while Shroud is peeling off the plastic from his new mouse.

What Mousepad Does Shroud Use?

Shroud mousepad

Shroud uses the HyperX FURY S – Pro Gaming Mouse Pad (X-Large).

Its dimensions are 900x420x4mm.

What’s next?

I doubt this article will ever be finished because Shroud will surely change his gaming setup again and again.

If at any point, you find out that Shroud’s gaming setup has been upgraded, I would appreciate you leaving a comment and letting me know about it so I can update this article right away.

Thank you in advance, and see you online!
